FROSTED DESIGNS CARD SKETCH TUESDAY CHALLENGE #19

Aloha and E Komo Mai!

It's time for another great sketch at Frosted Designs to get your mojo working!  Ann Bacon came up with another wonderful sketch for us to work with.

We also were generously given a choice of great images to work with by this weeks sponsor, StitchyBear Digital Stamps.  Thanx so much!  I chose this cutie and it is called "Splash".

I had to "fudge just a smidgin on this one as my image was a bit to tall to use on a square, I hope I'm forgiven!  When I put it on a square, it was just too small, so onward to plan B and I used a rectangle.  I colored it with my Copics, used my Cricut to cut out the tiny rain boots and umbrellas.  The flowers are made from the background paper and were done with paper punches, and there is a bit of lace too.

I hope you can join us for this fun challenge,  Take some time out and craft a card using this FAB sketch!  Can't wait to see your take on this one!

1 IN A MILLION

The start of another week, yeah for Monday!  It's too hot to go out today so I am inside doing my favorite thing, crafting!  I did this card for my super Uncle who is still battling on with his cancer and health issues.  He has really amazed us all doing as well as he is, Thank God!  I thought he would get a smile from this one.

I cut out the image and raised it with pop dots.  It was colored with my Copics.  I added the cute sunglasses that I had in my goodie stash.  The sentiment was computer generated.

It's in the mail today and I hope he enjoys it, he is a FAB man!

SAVE $$$ ON MAKING SHAKER CARD!

Aloha all!  I'm Joanne and it's my turn to do a tutorial for Frosted Designs.

If you are anything like me, I am always looking for ways to save money on my crafting supplies!  Here is an easy one that you can do.  Instead of buying the plastic "bubble" pieces for making shaker cards, use the little plastic containers that brads, buttons, beads and such come in.

A few simple supplies you will need:
Small plastic pieces from brad container or such
Card stock
Two sided tape
Goodies for inside the shaker

1. Cut plastic piece apart (if it is more than one unit like the one in pic),  leaving small edges on each side

2. Cut main card piece (A), Cut backing (B) that will cover back of front card stock (C), Cut front card stock and the holes the size of your plastic shaker piece (C)

 3. Apply two sided tape to back of card stock (C) around open cut areas to secure your plastic shaker piece

4. Insert the plastic shakers and push down on them to secure to tape

5. Apply two sided tape on top of all edges of shaker pieces

6.  Fill shaker pieces with beads, glitter or your choice of goodie.

7.  Apply two sided tape around all edges of backing piece (B)

8.  Attach backing (B) to card stock (C) to cover the shaker pieces.

9. Decorate your card as you like

VOILA!  You have an ez-peezee shaker card!  Enjoy!

CHALLENGE 13 ~ CHOCOLATE, COFFEE & CARD CHALLENGES

UH-OH!!!  Shame on me, I forgot to link up my DT card for yesterdays challenge at CC&CC!!!!  Life got away from me, my apologies!!

This week our theme is "For The Boys" sponsored by the great Dearie Dolls and I used this image called "Boy With Frogs"  Love this one, it's so cute and I adore the frogs!  I kept the card simple as I wanted it  for a "guy" birthday card.  I colored it with my Copic's, used my Cuttlebug for the textured background paper, added the wide polka dot ribbon and the cute metal square letters.

Now hop like a frog and get on over to CC&CC and join us for
this fun challenge!

OWL ALWAYS LOVE YOU

TGIF!  I bet you are happy for that, as the work week for many can seem very long!

Today's card is for my sweetie who is alone in Hawaii holding down the fort.  I really miss him and decided to do another card for him.  He loves getting mail!  The inside of this one says. "Owl Always Love You".  The owl was printed in brown ink then colored with a bit of Copics.  The circles were cut with my Cuttlebug.  A touch of ribbon and that was it!

Enjoy your weekend, I hope your weather is nice and the sun is shining!

Happy Mother's Day

To all of my friends and followers I wish all of you a lovely Mother's Day!

This card is simple and clean, not a lot of fussy details.  I love the stamp, it reminds me of endless days by the sea when I was a child ~ and still as an adult.  There is something about the ocean that always soothes my soul.

WINE & A GOOD FRIEND!

Do you have a fave TV show that you just can't wait to watch from week to week?  One of mine is "Revenge" at 9 pm every Wednesday evening.  Well, yesterday, it was Wed. and in the early evening a huge wind and rain storm hit Phoenix and knocked out our power ~ OH NO, it's almost 9 and I can't watch my program, AAAAAHHHHHH!  I was rescued by my SBC (sister by choice!), the sweet Betsy.  I grabbed a bottle of wine and headed over to her place and we watched it together ~ she loves it as much as I do!  So of course today I HAD to make her a special "thanx" card for the fun time we had!

We had so much fun and enjoyed it so much that we decided we need to make it a weekly habit!  Love you girl!

BIRTHDAY WISHES

The start of another new week!  I started mine off with doing some cards for May Birthdays.  I have really enjoyed working with my flower punches and flower pieces cut with my Cricut.  I put some of them to use on this card.

The background paper was embossed with a folder in my Cuttlebug, and the lacy frame is a brand new one I ordered and just received, I love it.  It's called "Oval Decorative Daisy" and is by Die-namics.

Hope that summer is headed your way and you can get out and enjoy
some real flowers!  Have a great week!

Happy FRIDAY all!

First off I want to say MAHALO for the FAB group of entries we had this past challenge!  We are so happy to have you join us, and to see lots of you who come every challenge!  You must be spreading the word because we have visitors from all over the globe, SUPER!!!

If you are ready for some relaxing time crafting over the weekend, here is a great challenge for you.  Over at Chocolate, Coffee & Card Challenges we have a fun theme for you, this great sketch:

I REALLY enjoyed this layout, I know I'll be using it again real soon!

Our super sponsor this week is one of my absolute favorites, Bugaboo Stamps!  Their images never disappoint!  And so many great images to choose from.  I chose this adorable little gal called "Girl Flower Sitter".  (The wall she is sitting on is another stamp I have, and I decided to sit her on it to give it a bit more balance.)  She is colored with my Copic's, and I added the layers with a bit of solid background paper to give it some punch and zip!  The flowers were all done using paper punches, then I added pearls from my stash.  Also there are two layers of ribbon under the larger flowers.  All in all I was very pleased with this one.  I think it will be used for a Mother's Day card for my Aunt!

So grab a cuppa, relax and get your mojo working!  Have fun with this awesome sketch!

FIRST ATTEMPT AT PANSIES

This was a fun project!  I love trying something new.  I have a great book called "Paper Bouquet, Using Paper Punches to Create Beautiful Flowers" and had never attempted to try them.  Since I did the window card with the flowers I have been telling myself it's time to get with it and try more paper flowers!  One thing that has held me back is the fact that the flower punches are costly and to do different kinds you need quite a few punches.  Well, I came up with a solution.  It is a bit time consuming but the end result is great!  I used my paint program to design the shapes needed, then imported them into my SCAL program and let my Cricut do all the cutting!  SUPER!  I followed the instructions and pics in the book and made my first pansies!  Here is the result:

I added some color on the flowers with my Copic's, added a bit of cheesecloth for some background, the leaves and little fern pieces.  The fern pieces were the only punch pieces used, they are from a Martha Stewart punch.  Now that I have tried making them and enjoyed it so much, I am going to try some more.  They are not hard to do at all, they just take a little time!  So if you have the time and patience, give it a go, they are lovely and fun!

JUST FOR YOU

Happy Saturday all, the weekend is here!  Hope you are crafting, at least just a bit!  I was this morning when I came across this neat sketch at Stampin' Sisterhood.  It's got that interesting triangle piece that really caught my eye, different!  So, I'm game, here is my take on the sketch:

I used some new papers I got while in PA last month.  They are from a 12 x12 pack called "Flower" and are by Scrapbook  The circle is a doily from Martha Stewart that I used some inks on, and also on the sentiment.  The flowers were made from paper punches

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and do some crafting, lol!

NEW CRAFTING SUPPLIES!

FUN, FUN, FUN!  Don't you just love working with new crafting goodies!?!  An order I placed arrived today and I had a blast playing with the supplies.  Three new dies, by PoppyStamps, LOVE them!  I was so inspired by "Kitty" and her gorgeous designs that I HAD to have them to play with.  I was not at all disappointed!!!  The set includes the small Madison Window, shutters and flower box.  On the first card I didn't include the shutters, but that will come soon enough!  I also had purchased some plant flourishes that arrived a few days ago and I have been playing with them too.  Her is my first effort at the window and flourishes together.

I added some curtains with ribbon for the tie backs, an edge cut punch for the lace valance, lots of little flowers from  hole punches, and the sentiment stamped on a die cut label.

I can't wait to do another one!  So much fun!

FUN TIME!

I hope you all had a restful weekend.  Mine was pretty good, a little work and still time to play with my paper!

Well, it sure feels like summer is here, it was 105 degrees in Phoenix today!  WAY too hot for me.  This little gal is from the "Brat" series by Bugaboo Stamps.  She sure looks like she has the right idea!~  She is called "Isabella Beach".  I decided to do her is fun bright colors.  There is a piece of ruffled ribbon down the side, red and white twine, and three brads that spell out "fun".  The border edge was cut with a Martha Stewart edge punch.

Enjoy your week!

CHALLENGE 11 ~ CHOCOLATE, COFFEE & CARDS CHALLENGES

OK ladies, hold on to your seats!  We are in for a great challenge  at Chocolate, Coffee & Card Challenges this week!  It's time for a game of BINGO!  Lots of choices to make your design shine!  Choose any three in a row; up, down, across or diagonal.

Our fun sponsor this week is Kenny K.  Take a look at the cute images they have available.  If you need an image with real attitude or a fun sexy mood, this is the place to find it!  I am using "Jeannie", too darn adorable, and have chosen "No Pattern Paper, Bling and Ribbon" for my bingo card.

My card design is a "surprise pop up".  You pull the ribbon on the top of the tag and it reveals a message behind the "Jeannie", and also one on the tag!

It was a super fun card to make and what a great image from Kenny K!
Come play a game of bingo with us over at CC&CC.  See you there!

GUS FISHING

I'm on a roll with Gus!  He cracks me up, and the people I send the cards to seem to enjoy him as much as I do.  This time the ole' boy is fishing and drinking beer, too cute!  I really love the sentiment, it seems to be oh so true with the boat fishermen I know!  But what a nice way to spend a day!

Gus is colored with my Copic's, and I added a fishing pole, fish and letter brads and a small piece of ribbon.  I also put a bit of Liquid Applique on the clods to make them look a bit puffy.

You know what they say,
"I'm just a beer drinker with a little fishing problem!"
Happy Fishing!

BIRTHDAY GUS

Today was the first day in a loooooong time that I did a card that was not for one of my challenge blogs! I have a good friend who has a birthday coming up in a week and I needed to get to it!  This cheerful old Gus fit the task perfectly.  I just adore Bugaboo images!

The image is colored with my Copic's, the sentiment frame was a Nestabilities die, and the little buttons and lollipop brads from my stash.  The scalloped edges were cut with a Martha Stewart edge punch.

Hope you had a great weekend!

SKETCH # 16 FOR CARD SKETCH TUESDAY

Well, it's good to be creating again.  It has been over a month since I have been able to do any card making!  For me that feels like an eternity!  My mojo is a bit rusty, but I managed to do this card for our Card Sketch Tuesday at Frosted Designs.  It's a lovely layout done by our talented Ann Bacon.  Take a look:

Here is my design.  I used a rose stamp on the plain background paper and another one with the sentiment, added some lovely rose print paper, the sentiment, paper roses and a bit of lace and pearl trim.

I hope you can come join us for the fun challenge!

CHALLENGE 9 ~ CHOCOLATE, COFFEE & CARDS CHALLENGES

Such a great turnout for our last challenge at Chocolate, Coffee & Card Challenges!  MAHALO for all your wonderful creations!  There are so many talented ladies out there doing such awesome designs.  We are so pleased to have you join us week after week.

This time we have a fun theme ~ "Fancy Folds", that means more than one fold.  The card design I used is called a zig-zag card.  It was fun to do and creates such an interesting look.  The adorable image is from our sponsor, MilkCoffee and called Charolette and Butterfly.

I separated the butterfly from the little girl in the digi.  (One of the things I love about digis is that you can arrange them how you want to.)  The image was colored with my Copic's and the flowers were made using paper punches.  I added the lace that I used distressed inks on to give it a bit of a vintage look, and the ovals were cut with my Cuttlebug.

And now it's your turn to show us your favorite fold.  Happy Crafting!

FROSTED DESIGNS CARD SKETCH TUESDAY, SKETCH #14

Aloha all, and welcome to another great Card Sketch Tuesday at Frosted Designs!  This week our sketch is a lovely one, a circle instead of of the normal square or rectangle.  Take a look:

It was designed by our talented Ann Bacon, who is our Card Sketch Challenge Coordinator.

I chose lavender colors and added a bit of glitz with the rhinestones, and the outer circle was cut on my Cuttlebug.  Very simple.

So now it is your turn to play along and show us your great creations!
